Overview of the DJI Phantom 3 Advanced Drone

DJIPhantom3AdvancedAre you an experienced drone flyer looking to upgrade to the next level? The DJI Phantom 3 Advanced originally shipped for $999, but the price has recently been dropped to $799. This is a bargain we feel you should jump at.

The DJI Phantom 3 Advanced measures 18 in. x 13 in. x 8 in. and weighs 2.8 lbs. It comes equipped with both GPS and GLONASS tracking. GLONASS is the Russian equivalent of GPS and gives you access to at least 36 satellites around the world. This combination of tracking systems makes sure that you are always aware of the drone’s location, provides for accurate control and movement, and allows the drone to return to your starting location at the push of a button. A Vision Positioning System allows you to fly indoors without the GPS signal.

The DJI Phantom 3 Advanced drone automatically logs and records the details of every flight the drone makes, including flight route, flight time, and distance traveled. It also keeps cached versions of any photos and videos taken during flight. The flight data recorder also records internal mechanisms. This information can be shared with DJI support should the need arise.

Specialty Features: Motor, Battery, Camera/Video & More

This drone features a powerful, precise, brushless motor. It also has self-tightening propellers that stay securely in place. Strong air-brakes give you the ability to auto-hover in place. The DJI Phantom 3 Advanced is one of the better drones with long flight times and features an intelligent flight battery which lets you know the remaining amount of power and how long you can continue flying. Flight time can be up to 23 minutes depending on conditions. This drone can be purchased with an additional battery.

With the attached camera, you can record 2.7K video or take 12 MP photos. The lens features a f/2.8 aperture and a 94° field-of-view. A 3-axis gimbal holds the camera in place and keeps it perfectly level which enables you to take sharp photos and video. It comes with a 16 GB Micro SD card to record images and video. You can also download to a computer via either the micro or standard USB port.

DJI Phantom 3 Advanced Controller

The controller can communicate with the DJI Phantom 3 Advanced from up to 3.1 miles (5 km). DJI Lightbridge is built into both the drone and the controller to maintain constant communication between the two devices.

In addition, you can customize what each of the two control sticks does. There are also two buttons on the back of the controller that you can pre-set to your favorite functions. A mobile device holder is on the controller so you don’t have to worry about trying to juggle the controller and your phone or tablet.
